FLTreasures: My eBay Experience - Paypal Dispute

fltreasures is the eBay ID and Scottco is the Paypal name.

This is a public service announcement and humanitarian effort to inform people before
they make an ebay purchase from FLTreasures. Buy with caution.

The Problem
I bought a camera lens off eBay from fltreasures that was advertised as "like new" and it arrived with a non-working aperture. I emailed a notice to Scottco at FLTreasures and offered to look into the repair cost of the item. His response was "Let me know what you find out."

After emailing the repair cost and numerous other emails over the following weeks, he failed to reply.

I did an extensive internet search but couldn't find a company web site or phone number for fltreasures (known as Scottco on PayPal). During my searches I DID find plenty of complaints about fltreasures.

After 3.5 weeks I started to file a complaint with eBay, but they recommended using PayPal. I filed with PayPal and at that time got the phone number seen here.

I spoke with Scottco on the phone and he was hostile, threatening and insulting. Based on his eBay feedback, I would say this is not so unusua. For instance, he demanded that I immediately cancel the Paypal dispute or he would drag the process out over the maximum amount of time - 90 days. He explained that he can wait until the last day to respond to the requests by Paypal during the process which will delay the return of my money.

I did not cancel the Paypal dispute and it is a good thing. He was hostile and berating through the entire process.

After I gave him a negative feedback on eBay, he sent this >>> taunting email. This should give you an idea of the mentality of this individual. He also told me to "Get Lost" when I asked him to post all correspondance to the Paypal dispute thread. I was always respectful in my emails and posts to him and never said anything to evoke these hostile responses.

Warning! Do NOT CANCEL YOUR PAYPAL CLAIM against FLTreasures!

Once you cancel a Paypal dispute, you cannot reopen it for any reason. FLTreasures is known to demand that you close the Paypal dispute before he gives a refund. Your only chance is to continue with the Paypal dispute.

Paypal Dispute
I filed and won the handily. Scott never even posted in the dispute thread - he didn't have a chance. He did continue to send insulting emails directly to me.

Negative Feedback
As expected, Scottco left negative feedback - my only negative or neutral in 5 years on eBay:

AVOID AT ALL COSTS LEAVES NEG FB BECAUSE HE CANT READ AUCTION PROPERLY

No idea what he is talking about. Here is the ad so you can make up your own mind.

Bad Experience?
If you have had encounters with Scottco, that you consider illegal or deceptive, please send information to me. I am particularly concerned with any pending legal action against this entity. It appears that eBay has been notified of unscrupulous behaviors by fltreasures, but has not taken any disciplinary action to date.
